TOKYO FASHION AWARD（TFA）への応募動機
東京のデザイナーとして活動する上で、自分のポテンシャルがどれくらいあるのかわかると思い応募しました。また、受賞することで精神面も追い込めるし、デザイン面もさらに磨きがかかると思いました。
TFAの支援メニューについてはどう感じられましたか？どのメニューが魅力的に感じましたか？
既にパリメンズの公式スケジュールでコレクションを発表しておりますが、そこからさらにTFAの後押しが加わるのであれば心強いです。展示会出展料や渡航費用なども支援頂けることに感謝しております。
受賞の連絡を受けた時のお気持ち
2015年くらいに応募して最終審査で落選した苦い思い出があるので、リベンジを果たしたという気持ちもあり嬉しかったです。いよいよ逃げ場所を失ったなという気持ちです。笑
これまでのTFA受賞デザイナーの活躍をご覧になって、どう感じられましたか？
何するにも自分自身で切り開いて行かないと始まらないし、未来をより明るく輝かせることも自分次第ですので、そういった高い志を持ってるデザイナーだけが上り詰めると思います。受賞されたデザイナーの皆さんに負けないようにやるだけです。
来年のパリのショールームでの発表や東京での凱旋イベントに向けての意気込みと、目標をお願いします。
引き続き、パリメンズでショーを行うと思うので、強さのあるコレクションを発表したいと思います。凱旋イベントについては、東京でやる意味も考えて内容は決めようと思ってます。
ブランドとしての今後の展望・目標をお聞かせください。
インディペンデントでどこまでパリで登れるか挑戦していこうと思ってます。3年後くらいまでの売り上げ目標も決めてるので、到達するために何が不足しているのか、どうしたら目標を達成できるのかを考え実行していこうと思います。協力してくれているセールスやプレス、ショーに関わってる皆の力がブランドを大きくしてくれるし、皆の優しさに甘えず、まず自分を追い込んで良いコレクションが作れるように頑張りたいと思います。
What motivated you to make an entry to the TOKYO FASHION AWARD (TFA)?
As a designer based and active in Tokyo, I felt I could measure my potential by applying. Furthermore, by winning the award, I felt I could drive myself further mentally, thereby polishing design aspects more.
How do you feel about TFA’s support menu? Which menu do you feel to be the most attractive?
We are already presenting our collection during the Paris Men’s Official schedule but receiving backup from TFA is even more encouraging. I really appreciate the financial support in exhibit fees, travel costs, also.
How did you feel when you received notice of winning the award?
I have bitter memories of applying once around 2015 and losing at the final judgement, so I feel I’ve made my revenge which makes this an even happier for me. I feel I have now finally lost any escape, from here it’s no way out (laugh).
Seeing the activities of past TFA award winning designers, how do you feel?
Whatever I do, I feel I must cultivate our own path, and whether or not we can make our futures shine is all up to ourselves, so I wish to climb up to become a designer with such high aspirations. All I can do is do my best, not to lose against other award-winning designers.
Please tell us your fervor and objective towards the showroom presentation at Paris and triumphant return event at Tokyo next year.
I intend to continue presenting shows at the Paris Men’s term, so I hope to present a powerful collection. As for the triumphant return event, I will decide on the contents, keeping in mind the meaning of presenting in Tokyo.
Please tell us the brand’s prospects/goals from hereon.
I intend to challenge myself and see how far I can climb up at Paris as an independent. I’ve set a sales goal for the next three years, so I will go along contemplating what is lacking, what needs to be done in order to reach those goals and carry them out. The brand is growing thanks to the cooperation of sales partners, press, everybody related to the shows, but rather than being too dependent on their kindness, I intend to do my best by running myself into a corner and making attractive collections.
