TFAへの応募動機
審査員の方でコレクションを見ていただきたいバイヤーさんがいらっしゃったので、力試しのつもりで応募しました。
受賞時のお気持ち
大変光栄ですが、同時にプレッシャーもそれなりに感じました。
世界中にはさまざまなアワードやコンテストがありますが、その中でTFAはどのようなアワードだと思いますか。
世界的に、というのは把握していないので分かりませんが、まだキャリアも実績も少ない自分を選出していただいたくらいなので、「発掘」するという目的をしっかり掲げている、日本では大変希少なアワードだと思いました。
FA2015 & TFA2016 受賞デザイナーの活動などをご覧になって、どう感じられましたか。
皆さん着実にステップアップされているようにお見受けしておりますので、自分もその流れに乗っていけるよう精進したいです。
パリのショールームでの発表に向けて、意気込みをお願いいたします。
既にパリで展示会は行っているので特別な思いはございませんが、スケジュールが通常より1ヶ月早いので、なるべく主張をコンパクトにして力強いコレクションを見せられたらと思います。
Motive to apply to TFA
Among the judges, there was a buyer whom I wanted to show my collection, so I applied as a sort of trail of my abilities.
How do you feel winning the award?
It is a great honor, but at the same time, I felt a certain amount of pressure.
There are many different types of awards around the world. What type of award is the TFA to you?
I’m not aware of awards around the world so I can’t say anything there. But with regards to TFA, seeing that they’ve chosen a designer with little experience or achievements like myself, I think they are an extremely rare award in Japan with the clear aim of “digging-up”.
How did you feel after seeing the activities of the TFA 2015 & TFA 2016 award winning designers?
I think that all the brands have surely made a step up, and I wish to do my best in following in their footsteps.
I’ve already done an exhibition in Paris, so I don’t have any special feelings there, but since the schedule will be approximately one month ahead of usual, I’m hoping to condense my representation, and show a powerful collection.
