ともにCentral Saint MartinsのBA Womenswear、MA Fashionを修了。在学中にChloé Award、Jane Rapley Scholarship、LVMH Graduate Prizeなどを受賞。Alexander McQueen、Lanvin、JW Anderson、Nina Ricciで経験を重ね、GivenchyとBurberryではそれぞれDesign Director、Head Designerを歴任。RTW、Haute Coutureを軸に、VIPプロジェクトやMet Galaも手掛ける。欧州でのキャリアを経てGURTWEINを共同設立し、その経験と日本のクラフツマンシップを融合したウィメンズウェアを展開する。
Teruhiro Hasegawa and Jianying “Wing” Lai trained together at Central Saint Martins, where Hasegawa received the Chloé Award, Jane Rapley Scholarship and LVMH Graduate Prize. Their respective careers took them through Alexander McQueen, Lanvin, JW Anderson and Nina Ricci, before assuming design leadership at Givenchy and Burberry as Design Director and Head Designer, working across ready-to-wear, haute couture and special projects for the Met Gala. That shared trajectory defines GURTWEIN: European design rigour in dialogue with Japanese craftsmanship.

生地そのものの美しさを活かすヨーロッパ特有の感性のもと、尾州産ウール、最高級国産コットンポプリン、ヴェールのように透けるシアー素材、シルクや繊細なフランスレースなどの素材を厳選して使用。素材が持つ構築性や透明感を引き出しながら、計算されたレイヤードと流麗なシルエットによって、身体の動きに合わせて美しく流れる服へと仕立てています。デイタイムからナイトタイムまで着用できる、現代的なワードローブを提案しています。

GURTWEIN is a womenswear brand founded on an aesthetic born from the clash between European boldness and Japanese precision and logic.
Our collections are built around three concepts: Gothic Poeticism, Urban Couture, and Classic Twist. The brand presents a neutral image of women that is neither overly feminine nor overly masculine, captivating the creative and artistic class, with its distinctive worldview and strong design language.
Drawing inspiration from haute couture silhouettes and techniques, GURTWEIN reinterprets European fashion sensibilities into contemporary, wearable garments crafted with refined Made-in-Japan quality. Through unique cutting techniques, each piece is carefully patterned to follow the female body's silhouette and movement, while incorporating the precision of menswear tailoring and meticulous finishing.
