KAKAN は工藤花観を中心としたデザインチームで構成される。
工藤は1998 年生まれ、東京都出身。Central Saint Martins にてファインアートとファッションアクセサリーを学び、生態系に宿る思考と感性の関係性を探究。その後、美意識を生活に昇華する都市・ミラノへ渡り、Istituto Marangoni にてファッションデザインを専攻。Yohji Yamamoto、CHANEL、ポーラオルビスでの経験を経て、2024 年に自身のブランド「KAKAN」を始動。同年、ブランドの活動母体となる株式会社フランカを設立。

KAKAN is a design team directed by Kakan Kudo.Born in Tokyo in 1998, Kudo studied Fine Art and Fashion Accessories at Central Saint Martins, where she explored the dialogue between ecosystems,thought, and sensibility. She later moved to Milan, a city where aesthetics are deeply woven into everyday life, to specialize in Fashion Design at Istituto Marangoni.
She gained professional experience at Yohji Yamamoto, CHANEL, and POLA ORBIS before launching her own brand KAKAN in 2024.
In the same year, she founded FRANCA Inc., which operates the brand.

KAKANは「人は服を纏うとき、作り手の思いに触れる私は感じている心地よさ、痛みも服にする。"KAKANを着る" その選択があなたらしく生きるきっかけとなるよう私は服を作り、それを楽しんでいる」というコンセプトを掲げる。
動きの造形としての衣服を追求し、手仕事と身体との親密な関係性を大切にする。また、纏う人が、自分自身をありのままで素直に受け容れられるような服を目指す。詩や映画、自然、心の機微から着想を得て、ニットを軸にコレクションを物語のように展開。KAKANの服のもうひとつの特徴は、その“軽さ”にある。代表作〈HAND SPAN〉シリーズでは、原毛から糸を紡ぎ、編み上げるまでを自社で手がけ、手編みのロングコートであっても、重さはおよそ〜900gと驚くほどの軽やかさを実現する。
服を着ることは、楽しいことであってほしい。それが「生きる」ということ、そのものなのだと願いながら、KAKANの服は生まれる。
KAKAN is built on the following concept: “When wearing clothes, you can feel and follow the designer’s thoughts. The comfort and pain I feel every day are expressed in my creation. ‘Wear KAKAN’ I design and enjoy making clothes, hoping that each choice will be an opportunity to live life as you want and as you are.”
The brand explores clothing as a form of movement, emphasizing the close relationship between craftsmanship and the body. It aims to create garments that allow the wearer to embrace themselves as they are. Collections are centered around knitwear, drawing inspiration from poetry, film, nature, and emotional nuance.
One distinctive feature of KAKAN is the lightness of its garments. In the HAND SPAN series, all steps from spinning raw fleece to hand knitting are done in house. Even hand knitted long coats weigh under 900 grams, offering surprising comfort and ease.
KAKAN believes that wearing clothes should be a joyful experience, an act that affirms life itself.
